While the core hardware remains consistent across applications, mainly divided into two types (6HP19/21 and 6HP26/28 for 6-speed, 8HP45/50/51 and 8HP70/75/76 for 8-speed), it is the software within the controller that enables transmission adaptability to different vehicles and driver styles.
